They say moms will do anything to help their kids. So when I suddenly found myself with a chronically stuffy-nosed, red-eyed, exhausted, sickly little three year old on a seemingly endless loop of ear infections and colds I wasn’t content to be told that it was just because he’d gone into daycare and that he would grow out of it.
I’d been interested in complementary medicine and natural health since I was a teenager, and helped put myself through university working part time at a health food store. But I’d grown up to become a working journalist, and I wasn’t going to just accept that there wasn’t something wrong.
So I started doing research.
I read everything I could get my hands on, from online medical journals and research to blogs with home remedies. Then I started to streamline things. We started seeing a naturopath, began various forms of allergy testing, went through elimination diets and along the way I enrolled in the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition to become a Registered Holistic Nutritionist.
I studied and he got better. The colds slowed down, the ear infections stopped. Colour appeared in his cheeks, he had more energy and everything changed. It wasn’t easy but it was completely and totally worth it and it was all done with diet. I was hooked.
When you can see changes happening right in front of your eyes and know that those kinds of results are possible, you want to shout it from the rooftops to see who else is listening.
Now that I have a private practice located at 62 Roslyn Road in Winnipeg, and see clients on Skype, I am happily working to help people through their own health challenges and desires to make lasting lifestyle changes.
In addition to the training I completed at CSNN, I have also been certified in the WOW! Nutrition System for weight loss and as a Facial Analyst and Tissue Salt Consultant #1-12 through ATIFA.
